Support the Cause Close to your Heart.
Our Mission
To inspire and nurture a united, spiritually enriched community through education, worship, and service, guided by the principles of Islam and the legacy of our founder, Allama Dr Khalid Mahmud (RA).
Our Story
The Islamic Academy of Manchester, established in 1974 by the renowned scholar Allama Dr Khalid Mahmud (RA), is one of the oldest Islamic organizations in Manchester. Founded under the guidance of Hadhrat Qari Muhammad Tayib (RA), the Rector of Darul Uloom Deoband, the Academy has been a cornerstone of Islamic education and community support for decades. After 40 years at the former Welsh Baptist Chapel on Upper Brook Street, we proudly moved to a purpose-built mosque, City Jami’ Masjid, on Stockport Road, serving as a spiritual and educational hub in the heart of Manchester.
Our Specialism
We specialise in Islamic education, community development, and social welfare, providing support and guidance through religious programs, educational initiatives, and charitable services.
